Play Proposals for 2025-2026 Season

The performance dates we have secured for the 2025-2026 season are:

For members’ convenience in preparing to choose the season at our May 21st meeting, here (in alphabetical order by title) is a list of the proposals received so far:

A Christmas Story, The Musical (Full Proposal) - December
    Director:  Jodi MacNeal & Jenn Fritchley
    Synopsis:  Ralphie Parker, a 9-year-old, is on a journey for an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model BB gun.  Ralphie plots with numerous ideas on how to get his coveted BB gun, but his ideas are with an echoing response at every turn.  The audience will be entertained by Ralphie's friend getting his tongue stuck to the flagpole, Ralphie's brother dressed in a snow suit, the local bullies Farkus and Dill, the pink bunny suit, and the award-winning leg lamp.
    Characters:  3 men, 2 women, 6 boys, 6 girls, plus ensemble.

ABC-NY Collaboration - Spring
    Director:  Devin Sudman
    Synopsis:  Proposal to continue the ABC Players/Nelsonville-York Drama Club collaboration using the Spring time slot.
    Characters:  Mixed, TBA

Murder on the Orient Express (Full Proposal) - Fall
    Director:  TJ Johnston
    Synopsis:  It´s Winter 1934 and an avalanche stops The Orient Express dead in its tracks.  A murder.  A train full of suspects.  An impossible case.  Trapped in the snow with a killer still on-board, can the world´s most famous detective, Hercule Poirot, crack the case before the train reaches its final destination?
    Characters:  5 men, 5 women.

The Cemetery Club (Full Proposal) - Fall/Winter/Spring
    Director:  Joe Balding
    Synopsis:  Three Jewish widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband´s graves.  Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life, Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun, and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene.  He meets the widows while visiting his wife´s grave.  Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida.  They are guilt stricken when this nearly breaks Ida´s heart.
    Characters:  1 man, 4 women.

The SpongeBob Musical (Full Proposal) - Winter
    Director:  Stuart Yaden
    Synopsis:  When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save their undersea world.  With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up.  The power of optimism really can save the world!
    Characters:  Minimum 16 cast members (Ideally closer to 25).  No gender requirements.
